I've been listening to Madonna's back catalogue and finally just completed my trek through each album. I've come to the conclusion that while True Blue, Like A Prayer, Ray Of Light and Confessions On A Dancefloor are all great albums, its American Life which is her best work. The title track is a bit naff but the rest of this album is pure art. I can't understand how it got a negative reception? did it come at the wrong time in her career or something?
I didn't find the right solution from the Internet.
